Bye Bye Bullguard

The London-based antivirus software provider, Bullguard has announced it will drop its name as it transitions its products, services, customers and partners to Norton. Once the transition is complete the well-known and easily recognisable red and white Bulldog logo will no longer be used.

BullGuard products and services will no longer be available to purchase. Any active Bullguard subscriptions will automatically be migrated to Norton, with protection continuing uninterrupted. Bullguard services are still available at bullguard.com/support for existing customers, and support.norton.com after migrating to Norton.

Bullguard was founded in 2001 by Morten Lund and Theis Søndergaard with the aim of providing internet security for home users and small businesses.

BullGuard's flagship product Bullguard Internet Security, launched in 2002, was an all-in-one internet security suite. Bullguard Internet Security originally included anti-virus, firewall and online backup features. Since then Bullguard has developed significantly as threat levels and attack vectors evolved.

The portfolio of products included award-winning anti-virus and antiphishing tools, parental controls for PC and Mobile devices, as well as PC and mobile backup software.

In 2021 Bullguard was bought by German cybersecurity firm Avira. Avira was, recently acquired by the US-based cybersecurity giant NortonLifeLock, formerly known as Symantec Corporation.

The two companies bring over fifty years of combined experience to the parent company. We look forward to seeing what this means for the future of electronic information security.
